A Moment to Decide
Monrovia, Liberia - Once in a lifetime, you have a moment to decide—whether you will pollute, whether you will stand up for public health, whether you will speak out to save living creatures.
Students from three schools near Monrovia gathered to demonstrate the importance of keeping the oceans clean in early 2017. They had studied the impact of oceanic pollution on fish and on human health. Shipping oil, beach trash and other factors influence the safety and health of all living things. After visiting intern Olivia Newcomb integrated the habit-of-heart Honor into a unit on science, music and action, the students came together to clean the ocean. The project would continue with spokespeople communicating what they had learned to the community.
